
Fraternity of different groups on Thursday stormed the Oduduwa Shrine at Ile-Ife where transition rites was performed on the remains of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
Our correspondent gathered that similar burial rites were going on in various sacred forests in Ife in connection to the late Ooni of Ife.
CEOAfrica gathered that heads of each fraternity groups which the monarch belonged to had besieged the shrine to pay their last respect on the corpse of the late Ooni.
A traditionalist who didn’t want his name mentioned gave the name of the head of Isoro deity as Obadio and explained that he is also in charge of the dialects and languages of certain gods and goddesses in Yoruba land.
He added that the death of the monarch may be announced in a couple of weeks as the Emese deity who is supposed to disseminate the news has been prepared spiritually to perform the duties in accordance with the culture and tradition of the land once instructed.
