
The Osun State government has declared August 20 as a public holiday for the traditional festivity of the Isese celebration. This is to precede the annual Osun-Osogbo festival.
Major sponsors of the event were seen putting finishing touches to boast this year festival.
A trader in Osogbo, Mr Segun Akinola, told CEOAfrica that he makes makes more money during the period with his colleagues. Akinola added that he made the money from tourists who come to Osogbo to witness the festival.
In the same vein, a security operative, Mr Fagboyinbo Abiodun, hinted that police had been on 24 hour surveillance before, during and after the Osun-Osogbo festival.
He said: “Everything is in top gear and security personnel has been dispatched to every nook and cranny of the state to fight crime."
Meanwhile, Osogbo has been filled with various decorations ahead of the grand finale of the festival .
