President Goodluck Jonathan is scheduled for his official visit to China to meet various technology companies that have invested significantly in the country.
Special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, confirmed ahead of the visit Jonathan would meet executives of leading Chinese Conglomerate Huawei , SINOPEC and ZTE.
The two firms have significant market share in Nigeria's smartphone and wireless markets.
“He will leave Abuja next Monday for a five day state visit to China and he is expected to hold separate meetings with the Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of Huawei , SINOPEC and ZTE," stated Abati from Abuja.
President Goodluck Jonathan will also attend a special session of the Nigeria/China Investment Forum, which will be attended by leading Chinese investors and their Nigerian counterparts next week .
At the end of the visit, it is expected that new bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding will be concluded and signed to guide and sustain future Nigeria and China relations.
Nigerian president is also expected to hold meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang.
Talks will focus on greater bilateral cooperation in areas of public infrastructure development, oil and gas, power supply, agriculture, communication and tourism.
CEOAFRICA news desks gathered that Mr. President will accompanied by Governors of Abia, Anambra, Gombe and Bauchi States and the Ministers of Finance, Aviation, Agriculture, Foreign Affaires, Petrolum, Works, Solid Mnerals, Transport, National Planning, Trade& Investment, Niger Delta, Justice, Culture & Tourism , Defence and Justice.
The president will also commission new Nigerian Embassy building and laying of foundation stone for the residence of Nigeria’s Ambassador to China.
