A group known as the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State has recommended a serving judge in Osun State, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede of Osun State Judiciary to President Muhammadu Buhari for appointment as one of the judges for the proposed special court to handle corruption cases.

The chairman of the group, Mr. Adeniyi Sulaiman, said this in a statement made available to our CEOAfrica correspondent in Osogbo on Sunday.

The group said Oloyode, had the boldness to petition the Osun State Governor Mr Rauf Aregbesola asking the House of Assembly to impeach the Governor, based on allegations of corruption saying the judge was bold, honest and qualified to hold such position.

Sulaiman stated that any judge, who would be appointed to man such a court should be a person of good character, must be bold and courageous to discharge his duties without fear or favour.

The statement read,” It is now clear that most of the judicial officers in the land have soiled their hands for one corrupt practice or the other for failing integrity test conducted by the security agents.

“We want to use this opportunity to recommend the courageous serving Judge of the Osun State High Court, Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede to be appointed as one of the judges to man the proposed Anti-Corruption Specialised Court which will be trying the looters of the nation’s treasury.

“We also want to say that Justice Oloyede is a woman of virtue, integrity and an upright person with impeccable character. The records are there to be checked for anybody about Justice Folahanmi Oloyede.”
