
Hassan Erewa; the Marketing and Sales Management Director of Kenana Sugar Company, noted that the sugar productivity for the season (2015-2016) is expected to reach 350 thousand tons, as Kenana after adding 12 thousand acres of new agricultural areas, the total cultivated areas with sugar cane became 112 thousand acres.
He pointed out that work is progressing in reaching 400 thousand tons of sugar via the use of new specimens of sugar cane and the horizontal increase in cultivated areas.
He asserted that the experiment of 10% mixing ethanol with gasoline for cars fuel found acceptance from users as clean energy that would protect the environment from greenhouse gas emissions, stressing that efforts are being made with the Nile Petroleum Company to expand that experiment.
