Tamar Braxton, Flavour, Diamond Patnumz to light up BET awards

Three-time Grammy Award nominee international R&B soul and pop singer, actress and television personality, Tamar Braxton, is expected to join fellow R&B sensations, Maxwell and Raphael Saadiq on the line-up for the BET Experience Africa.

The three R&B superstars will perform during the gala concert alongside two of Africa’s top artists, multi-instrumentalist Flavour and Bongo Flava star, Diamond Platnumz at the BET Experience Africa in mid December at Johannesburg, South Africa, according to a release.

BET Experience Africa is expected to feature stunning live performances on a central ‘Sound Stage’, veteran performer, who began singing backup vocals for her older sister, Toni, at the age of 12, Tamar Braxton was also a founding member of R&B group *The Braxtons* with Toni and their siblings Traci, Towanda and Trina.

Also, Nigerian singer, actor and dancer, Flavour N’abania popularly known as Flavour, began his career as a drummer for a local church before going on to become one of Africa’s most sought after artists. After playing the drums professionally,

This talented musician has received a host of Nigerian and African entertainment nominations and awards, including winning two African Muzik Magazine Awards, an MTV Africa Music Award (MAMA) in 2014 and as part of The Headies, a Hip Hop World Award.

Furthermore, Nasibu Abdul Jumma better known as Diamond Platnumz, has been putting Tanzanian hip hop well and truly on the global music map for the last five years, thanks to his energetic live performances and hit tracks such as ‘Number One’, ‘Kipofu’ and ‘Bum Bum’.

The multi-award winning artist won the 2015 MTV MAMA Award for Best Live Act, and has been the recipient of 16 Tanzanian Music Awards.  Diamond was nominated as Best International Act: Africa at the 2014 BET Awards, and most recently won Best African Act at the 2015 MTV EMAs.
