NEMA TRAINS CIVIL SERVANTS ON PROACTIVE MEASURES

The North-West Zone of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) begins an emergency evacuation drill for civil servants in Kaduna State.

The exercise began on Wednesday at the state secretariat and supervised by Musa Ilallah, North-West zonal coordinator of NEMA.

CEOAFRICA gathered according to the statement by the zonal coordinator, that the drill was a sensitization exercise to help build a “culture of emergency readiness in our daily lives due to the security challenges in the country.”

He further said the exercise was also aimed at mitigating the impact of disasters by strengthening the existing synergy amongst response agencies and grassroots volunteers.

Ilallah however emphasized there was need for proactive measures in preventing, responding and mitigating the impact of emergencies.
