Hon. Michael Okechukwu Chinda, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who was injured at the Tuesday’s fight at the Rivers State House in now in coma.

According to a source at the hospital, Chinda, who represents Obio/Akpo constituency, went into coma last night immediately after undergoing surgeries at the Saint Patrick’s Hospital, Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt and that arrangement had been made to fly Chinda abroad for further medical treatment.

Chinda, however was the chairman, House Committee on Public Petitions and is one of the five lawmakers said to be loyal to the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike.
