CEOAFRICA News Desk has gathered from Lagos, Nigeria that the former chief of staff to the Late General Sanni Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, has been discharged and acquitted over the murder of Late Kudirat Abiola in 1996.

Mustapha who was alleged to have masterminded the killing of Kudirat Abiola during the Abacha regime, had earlier been sentenced to death by the High court.

However, the death sentence has been overruled with the declaration of the Appeal Court which discharged and acquitted him.

Al-Mustapha has been in police custody for over ten years, with series of allegation leveled against him. Details of the Judgment will  be reported later.
