NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR PLANNERS COMMENCES ON MONDAY
   Oyo State Government in collaboration with National Planning Comission will organize a 2 day National Conference of Directors of planning, Research and Statistics in the Public Service on Monday 15th July to Tuesday 16th July, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. daily. Venue is the Kakanfo Inn, Joyce B; Road, Ring Road, Ibadan. The Oyo State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Dr. Nurudeen Olarinde dropped this hint today in Ibadan.

 According to the Commissioner, the theme of this year's conference is tagged "The imperative for developing National, Regional and Sectoral Plans: Issues, Challenges and Lessons learnt from the 1st Implementation Plan".

He said further that the forum is aimed at providing useful avenue for interactions and cross fertilization of ideas amongst the Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics throughout the nation, with a view to build the capacity of the officials toward facilitating the implementation of government policies and programmes.
 
The Special Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony is the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who is billed to declare the conference open, while the Minister of National Planning, Dr. Shamsuddeen Usman will deliver the keynote address at the occasion.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Dr. Nurudeen Olarinde disclosed further that the State Government will provide adequate security for lives and properties adding that all necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure the success of the programme.
