The ECOWAS countries have meet to actualize plans on the construction of the Abidjan-Lagos Highway come 2014.

The stakeholder countries directly concerned with the Abidjan-Lagos corridor has concluded plans towards the commencement of the six-lane highway construction by November /December 2014 beyond all obstacles.

This project which was initiated to improve the economic viability of the region however was dully agreed upon at a meeting of the ECOWAS countries held at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
