Against the backdrop of data increment which is to take effect from 1^st of December, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) today announced the immediate suspension of the new minimum pricing template for data services by mobile operators.

The new rate, which would have led to price increase in data usage for some Nigerians, was scheduled to take effect from December 1.

The NCC said the decision, which was reached after the National Assembly halted the planned increase, is to allow for further consultation.
