Reports just reaching Ceoafrica reveals that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, intelligence response team in Omu Awa forest, Ikwere LGA of Rivers State has killed notorious kidnap kingpin, Henry Chibueze (aka Vampire), in gun battle.

Five other members of late Vampire’s gang were also arrested alive during the raid with caches of arms and ammunition recovered.

It was learnt that the Special Force deployed to Imo State, by the IGP, Ibrahim Idris, to track down Vampire and other members of his gang, trailed him to his hideout in Omu-Awa forest in Ikwerre were he was killed in the early hours of today.

It will be recalled that Vampire, escaped from prison custody in January, when some gunmen reported to be his gang members stormed the Owerri High Court in Imo State to rescue him, which was successful.

The suspects have reportedly confessed to breaking Vampire out of prison late January and also their involvements in some high profile kidnaps after the breakaway.
