Heads of Tertiary Institutions to supervise UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that engaged the heads of federal and state tertiary institutions will be engaged to supervise the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, such class of individuals with proven integrity would never compromise the process to either favour the JAMB or any candidate.

Prof. Oloyede, who addressed a gathering of the heads of institutions at a meeting in Abuja highlighted some of the roles they were expected to play for a hitch free exercise beginning tomorrow with the conduct of mock CBT exams to selected candidates.

He said: “It is said that proper planning prevents poor performance and he who fails to plan automatically plans to fail. It is to achieve the former and avoid the latter that we assembled you to brainstorm and strategize on how to make the 2017 UTME a tremendous success.”

He appealed to the academics to support the effort of JAMB to provide equal platform for all candidates to participate in the UTME, and secure admission if they passed the exams.

Oloyede maintained that the board strengthened its structures and capacity to successfully conduct the 2017 UTME, but solicited the support of the institution managers to achieving that.
