The Minister of State, Health, Dr. Muhammed Pate, voluntarily resigned from President GoodLuck Jonathan’s cabinet.

CEOAFRICA correspondent reliably gathered that the Minister tendered a resignation letter dated July22 to the President, stating his reasons for the impromptu decision.

In the letter of the resignation tendered, the honorable Minister briefed that he was leaving to take up a position of Professor in Duke University’s Global Health Institute USA and will also participate in a university-wide Africa initiative in that capacity.

Above all, Pate announced that he will also serve as a Senior Adviser to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation based in Washington DC.
