MOROCCO- Raja Casablanca became the second African club to reach the Final of FIFA Clubs World Championship after TP Mazembe of Congo in 2010, when they trashed South American Champions, Athletico Mineiro of Brazil yesterday 3-1.

Raja Casablanca scored twice in the last 10 minutes to earn a place in the final against Bayern Munich in Marrakesh on Saturday.

Raja, who qualified as champions of host nation Morocco, took the lead early in the second half when Mouhssine Iajour was sent clear on the right and fired a low shot past Victor.

Athletico Mineiro equalized through former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho, who curled a free-kick in off the post to the admiration of fans.

But Raja regained the lead in the 83rd minute when Rever was adjudged to have tripped Iajour, although replays suggested no contact was made.

Mohaine Moutaouali fired home the controversial penalty in the 83rd minute and Vivien Mabide wrapped it up in the fourth minute of stoppage time with a breakaway goal.

In Wednesday's earlier game, Egyptian champions Al Ahly were thrashed 5-1 by Mexico's Monterrey , who sealed fifth place with the victory.

Al Ahly couldn’t get their revenge against the Concacaf champions, having lost to them in last year's third-place play-off.

Cesar Delgado scored twice for Monterrey to become the competition's all-time leading scorer with five goals, surpassing Argentine Lionel Messi, Brazilian Denilson and Egyptian Mohamed Aboutrika, who missed the match because of a hamstring injury.

The legendary Ahly midfielder suffered the injury in his side's quarter final loss to Asian Champions, Guangzhou Evergrande.

Monterrey's other scorers were Neri Cardozo, Leobardo Lopez and Humberto Suazo, while Ahly's lone strike came from Emad Moteab.
