Agric Processing Systems Will Eliminate Farm Yield Wastage in Oke-Ogun-Olaniyan Ex OYSTROMA Boss

The former General Manager of Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSTROMA), Engr. Raufu Olaniyan has said that government needs to provide an agric processing system to eliminate wastage of farm produce in Oke-Ogun, Oyo state.

He made this remark during a breakfast media chat with The South-west Group of Online Publishers (SWEGOP) as he addressed questions pertaining to the incessant wastage of farm produce that is being recorded in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state.

The Ex-boss of OYSTROMA explained that farmers in Oke-Ogun will do better if an enabling environment is provided for the farmers through private-public partnership.

 “If NTC system is applied to the farmers, they’ll keep smiling.

“Processing should also be focused on in order to prevent wastage.

“Government must find a way to provide agric processing systems to eliminate hunger and wastage,” Olaniyan maintained.

In addition to this, Lawrence Olisa, the Media Consultant to Olaniyan revealed that if Olaniyan becomes a leader in the state he has a blue-print that will focus mainly on agriculture, cottage industries and other core tenets that Obafemi Awolowo stands for.

“Oke-Ogun being the food basket of the state will be optimized to prevent wastage and increase productivity of the constituency,” he noted.

It will be recalled that Engr. Raufu Olaniyan was a key party member of Accord party before he defected to All Progressive Congress (APC) where he hopes to pursue his governorship aspirations although no formal announcement
