Anyim Unveils Centenary Flag in Abuja

NIGERIA (Abuja) – In preparation for the Centenary Celebration of Nigeria’s amalgamation in 2014, the Centenary Flag has been unveiled in Abuja by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Anyim Pius Anyim.

The flag which was designed by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in collaboration with a private organization was presented to the SGF who said the centenary was based on the unity and progress the country had recorded.

Anyim added that the centenary flag, provided Nigerians the opportunity to reaffirm their faith in the country.

“This flag should not only serve the purpose of centenary, but it should remain as a symbol of our unity even for years to come,” the SGF said.

In his remark, the NOA Director-General, Mr. Mike Omeri, said the identity of Nigeria lies in its symbols, adding that people should imbibe the spirit of patriotism in their dealings.
