Fashola's wife charges teachers on student development

Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola has called on teachers in the state to help in the development of their students in order to make them good ambassadors of the nation.

 

Mrs. Fashola who said this over the weekend at the annual Get Together and

Appreciation Party for Principals of public schools and Directors in the State noted that that the only thing that separates students in public schools from those in private schools is the level of confidence instilled in them right from school.

 

She commended the teachers for their selfless efforts in molding the lives of their students and urged them to always lead by example in order to establish and inculcate in the students correct and proper attitude.The Wife of the Governor also advised the principals to always take their health more seriously by going for medical check-ups as well as availing themselves of the opportunity of the free health programmes of the State Government stressing that a stitch in time saves nine.

 

Earlier in her address, the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka

Oladunjoye, commended principals and teachers of public schools for a job well done but charged them to redouble their efforts.She asserted that the reward for hard work is more hard work and reminded them of the mandate given to them to ensure that their students attain 100 percent pass mark in their WAEC results.

 

The Commissioner also congratulated them and prayed to God to continue to strengthen them and make them joyful.High points of the event were the presentations of awards to the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, for his passion, support and contribution to the development of education in the State and outstanding education officers in state.Other awards recipients were the Zonal Coordinator of WAEC, Mrs. Comfort Agwu for

her contribution to the development of education in Lagos State; a retired Permanent Secretary in the Teachers’ Establishment and Pensions Office, Mrs. Eniola Yowuren; retired Tutors-General/Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Wonuola Idris; Mrs. Ajibike Ogunsanwo; and Mrs. Modupeola David; and a retired Board Secretary in the States Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs. Titilola Oluseye.
