A  lawmaker  under the platform of APC said party leaders were being imposed at the grassroot.

An All Progressives Congress, APC, member of the House of Representatives, Ishaq Kana, has said that his party could soon crash and split into factions.

Mr. Kana, who represents Keffi-Karu-Kokona constituency of Nasarawa State, said that with the imposition of party leaders at the grassroot, he foresees the emergence of an APC faction.

The lawmaker told journalists that the imposition of party leaders mostly in the north- central states by some interim leaders of the party will cause the crisis.

He accused the interim North Central vice chairman of the APC, Ahmed Aboki, of actions that could de-stabilise the party. He claimed the vice chairman is working with fifth columnist who decamped from Nigeria’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC to create confusion and give the ruling party a chance to break the ranks of the opposition.

He also accused Mr. Aboki of not consulting stakeholders in taking decisions.

Mr. Kana also warned that unless urgent steps are taken to address the imposition of local party leaders, the APC would crash.

“Some times I will only hear certain decision on radio without my input or other stakeholders,” he said. “I have complained severally to governor Almakura to call the vice chairman to order, but despite the intervention of the governor and his promise to make amends, he still repeats same mistakes.”

The lawmaker called for the removal of the vice chairman. He also disclosed that several petitions have been written to the national secretariat of the party, which prompted him to address the media.
