NIGERIA (Gombe) –The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the upgrading of Federal Medical Centre, located in Gombe State to a Teaching Hospital.

The above development was detailed in a press release on Friday by the Assistant Director, Public Relations of the hospital, Haruna Abdulrasheed, adding that the upgrading was to enable the hospital be used for the training of medical students of the Gombe State University.

He disclosed through the statement that copies of the approval were sent to the Minister of Health, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Gombe State Governor.

The upgrading took effect from January 1.
