Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, his Deputy Prof. Modupe Adelabu and the Speaker of Ekiti House of Assembly, Mr Adewale Omrin at the thanksgiving service. Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has called on men of God in the state to remain fervent in prayer of peace as election period fast approaches.

Governor Fayemi made the appeal on Sunday at the thanksgiving service held for the year 2013 pilgrims from the state to the holy land of Israel at the Christ Apostolic Church, Ogba – Alaafia, Ijigbo, Ado- Ekiti, Ekiti State, and southwest Nigeria. The Governor noted that the peace still being witness in the state despite all odds was an indication that the prayer for peace and progress of the Ekiti land offered by pilgrims while in the holy land was answered by God.

He therefore urged all lovers of the progress and development of Ekiti to join their voices with that of the pilgrims and men of God in prayer for continual peace of God to reign in the state.

Fayemi also told the people to conduct themselves peacefully, be law-abiding and go about their normal business without any fear of molestation with the assurance that his government will not fail in its responsibility to put every necessary arrangement in place to ensure the security of lives and property of every citizenry.

The Governor who restated his belief that it is God that elevates and enthrones also urged politicians not to heat the polity unnecessarily but conduct their political activities peacefully in the interest of the people and the peace and progress of Ekiti State.

Other top government functionaries at the thanksgiving service include the state Deputy Governor, Professor Modupe Adelabu; the Speaker of Ekiti House of Assembly, Honourable Albert Omirin; the state Head of Service, Mr. Bunmi Famosaye; the Chairman of the state Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Chief Aaron Akomolafe; among others.
