The Ekiti State governorship election is expected to hold during the middle of this year, and it has expectedly continued to ignite controversies among the candidates.

For some time now, there had been allegations and counter-allegations among the politicians, particularly between the incumbent Governor, Kayode Fayemi, and his People’s Democratic Party opposition, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye.

On Sunday, Adeyeye expressed optimism that he would floor and unseat Fayemi during the polls, claiming that the Governor’s wasteful spending in the last four years would even make it easier for an opposition in the level of PDP to take over the baton of leadership.

“It is a pity that huge amount, which is enough to give over a 1,000 people

scholarship, could be invested in unwarranted project. I wonder who is chasing him (Fayemi). We are winning the election by the grace of God. We have the strategies and potential to win,’’ Adeyeye said.
