The Bafana Bafana of South Africa Head Coach, Gordon Igesund, has said that the 3-1victory recorded by the Home Based Super Eagles over his lads, was well-deserved.

He made this statement at the post-match conference held shortly after the pulsating match which sent the South Africans out of the 2014 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

“The Nigerian side not only brought their physical approach to bear on my team, but did the needful to win the pulsating encounter,’’ Igesund said.

Igesund also said he felt satisfied with the work he had been doing with the Bafana Bafana team.

He added that he was not in any way placed under pressure by the threat of a sack by the South African football authorities, SAFA.

However, Coach Stephen Keshi has hailed the brilliant display of his lads which established the supremacy of Nigeria on the South Africa in football, adding that the team’s goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim, has learnt from his past mistakes.

“It was a man-of-the-match performance he put in for the team.

“We all make mistakes and I believe that Agbim has learnt from his past mistakes, and I want to also commend all the players for putting up a good performance in the match,’’ he said.
