Super Eagles and AS Monaco Defender, Elderson Echeijile
After signing for the French side, AS Monaco last week, Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile has made his debut for the club in a French Cup encounter against fourth-tier Chasselay in a round of 32 clash.
In the encounter played at Stade, Echiejile, along with his team-mates, dismissed the threats of Ludovic Giuly side 3-0 with the first goal coming in the 29th minute of the encounter courtesy Colombia’s Radamel Falcao.
However, at the start of the second half, the goal scorer was replaced with Emmanuel Riviere, who got two goals to seal the victory for the Cladio Ranieri side.
First, Rivière rolled into an empty net just after the hour mark after Chasselay ‘keeper Daniel Jaccard had made a terrible hash of dealing with a simple ball through the middle. Then, after Romero had saved well from Giuly, Rivière converted a centre from fellow substitute Nabil Dirar – making his first appearance of the season – to make it 3-0.
