NIGERIA (Lagos) –The Lagos State House of Assembly has called on the state’s Commissioner of Education, Mr. Yinka Oladunjoye, along with the management of Lagos State University (LASU) and the Students Union Government (SUG) over protest by the students.
This follows a peaceful protest embarked upon by the SUG on Wednesday, January 22, over the closure of their school portal.
It was gathered that the alleged closure of the portal had deprived the students from registering for the second semester examination.
During the plenary, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King (APC-Lagos Island II), Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, identified the crises under matter of urgent public importance.
Alawiye-King, then appealed to the school authority to reopen the portal for two days, to enable the students register for the examination, so as to halt the current crisis.
He said students were to commence the second semester examination two weeks after resumption, but without the necessary registration, no student could write the examination.
The Speaker, Mr Adeyemi Ikuforiji, announced the decision of the lawmakers having concluded at a parliamentary session.
