Super Eagles of Nigeria will play a warm-up game against Croatia as part of preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
This was disclosed to to journalists in Cape Town by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, who added that arrangements had reached an advanced stage to get a date for the match.
’’We are still waiting for the Croatian FA to confirm a date, but that will definitely come after the match against Mexico,’’ Maigari said, while discussing plans for the Super Eagles ahead of the World Cup.
’’We all know that Croatia and Bosnia share the same border and both countries play almost the same way. So, a match with them will give the Eagles a glimpse of what to expect from Bosnia at the World Cup,” Maigari said.
He also said that apart from the March 5 friendly against Mexico and the proposed tie against Croatia, plans are afoot to see the Eagles engage top flight opposition before the Mundial.
“We intend to see the team play a number of friendlies to put them in a competitive shape before the World Cup,” he added.
