For the fourth time, Femi Kuti, the son of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has lost out at the Grammy Awards.
The ‘Wonder Wonder’ crooner lost narrowly to Gipsy Kings and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who were tied on points at the ‘World Music’ category for his 2013 song titled ‘No Place for my Dream’.
The award was presented to the winners by Legendary musician and ‘Time after Time’ producer, Cynthia Lauper at the 56th edition of the prestigious music award in the world.
Femi Kuti who has grown less optimistic about getting a Grammy Award did not attend the awards show. He was represented by elder sister Yeni Kuti.
It would be recalled that in 2003, Kuti lost to Panamanian Salsa singer Ruben Blades and in 2010, he lost to US banjo player Bela Fleck.
Femi lost in 2011 to Malian band Tinariwen for the album Tassili
