The youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye has issued a red card to the ruling government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both federal and state level as a result of their abysmal performance since they assumed power.
Adekola made this statement in Ibadan when he featured as a guest on "Community Today" online TV program of CEOAfrica. He stated that, APC has failed Nigerians in all aspects as they have brought untold hardship on the people despite the massive votes they enjoyed during the last polls.
The Oyo PDP youth leader frowned at the inability of APC to fulfil the plethora of promises made to Nigerians during their electioneering campaigns. He went further to mention some of the promises of the APC which they are yet to fulfil. This include: making the Nigerian currency equal to the dollar, reversing the pump price of petrol to forty naira, employing three million Nigerians on annual basis.
Adekola said that,’’ with the failed promises of the ruling party, Nigerians have learnt in a hard way, that is why the yearnings for PDP to return to power is on the increase on daily basis.’’
The youth leader assured the masses that, ‘’whosoever emerges as PDP governor will create employment across the state, backlog of salary will not be witnessed in the government of PDP in Oyo state as well as the establishment of training centers that will cater for the youths across all the local governments in the state.’’ He also promised that PDP will right the wrong of APC in the area of civil servant’s promotion.
In line with youth involvement in politics, the Oyo state PDP youth wing is organizing a “Youth Summit” for the youth in the state which is to hold on the 15th of February 2018 at Nest Spa & suites Agodi, Ibadan. The event will witness the presence of prominent persons from the PDP across the country such as National Chairman of PDP ,Prince Uche Secondus, Oyo State PDP leader, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, Hon. Udeh Okoye National PDP youth leader and host of others.
Meanwhile resource persons for the “Youth Summit” that will talk on various topics includes; Oloye Jumoke Akinjide :” Involvement of youths in Nigeria politics 2019 focus”, Sen. Gbenga Babalola :”Preparing our youths for leadership positions”, Hon.
