Less than one week to the assassination of opposition leader, Mohammed Al-Brahmi in Tunisia, another tragic event occurred in the country as eight soldiers were killed in an ambush near the Algerian border.

According to information gathered by CEOAFRICA.com and credited to Tunisia's president Mr. Moncef Marzouki, the attack took place on Mount Chaambi, some 300 kilometers south of Tunis, the capital. Also, another security patrol was struck by a landmine in the same area with three soldiers injured in that attack.

The President announced three days of mourning for the victims, while blaming Islamic militants and extremists for the violence.
