Shooting in Thailand ahead of Sunday’s Election

THAILAND- Ahead of Sunday’s general election in Thailand, there were exchange of gunfire by anti-government protesters with several people injured.

It was gathered that the violence erupted during a stand-off between supporters and opponents of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

The violence erupted as anti-government demonstrators, who wanted the replacement of the government by an unelected people’s council, blocked buildings where ballot papers are being stored, in an attempt to prevent their distribution.
