The victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the coming to power of the All Progressives Congress, APC have been described as the timely intervention that prevented the country from witnessing a major revolution.
This statement was made by the Oyo State secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC Honourable Mojeed Oyaola in Ibadan while responding to questions in his office. Hon. Oyaola who lampooned former government of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP of mortgaging the future of the country noted that, why it seems President Muhammadu Buhari is not working is because the mess created by the former government requires thorough effort and patience to clear.
The APC stalwart stated that all the abandoned projects of the former government are being given considerable attentions by President Muhammadu Buhari arguing that the present administration has done credibly well considering the level of damages caused by the former administration.
He assured Nigerians that more developmental projects will be seen before the end of this year as the president is poised to salvage the nation and her basterdized economy.
Mr. Olaoya advised Nigerians to disregard the criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari by self centred politicians whom he described as people looking for what to eat and as such they will never say the truth. He called on the people to rather listen to academicians across the country who are singing the praises of President Muhammadu Buhari over the good works he is doing.
Obasanjo not fit to advise President Buhari against 2nd tenure
In the same vein, the Oyo state secretary of the ruling party has chided former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo pointing out that his antecedents do not warrant any form of advice to President Muhammadu Buhari not to recontest in 2019. He blamed Obasanjo for introducing dictatorship into the nation's democracy through arbitrary removal of leadership of the national assembly.
According to Hon. Olaoya, the former President lacks the moral right to criticize the incumbent President on issues relating to developments because when he was in power, he did little or nothing to change the face of governance in the country even in his own state. He went further to say that the former president advising president Muhammadu Buhari not to recontest in 2019 is the highest height of hypocrisy considering the fact that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo canvassed for third term while he was in power.
''President Obasanjo of recent, he wrote a paper asking Buhari not to go for second term. If every other person says that does it fit Obasanjo to say that? A man seeking for third term, so the job he cannot complete in eight years two terms so he wanted to complete it in another four years. He cannot complete Lagos-Ibadan express road, he cannot complete Oyo-Ogbomosho road Ilorin and he's coming out to say; is he justified for him to say that? If people are afraid to tell him the truth, the younger ones of this country will tell him the truth and nothing will happen to us.''
We are prepared for LG election
While responding to a question on the preparation of his party APC, towards the forthcoming local government election in the state, Hon. Olaoya stated that his party is well prepared for the election noting that any serious party must prepare for election and as a serious and winning focused party, his party the APC is fully prepared for the election.
He further said that participating political parties had held a stakeholde’s meeting with OYSIEC where issues surrounding the election were discussed. Hon. Olaoya expressed optimism that people will troop out on the day of the election to cast their votes.
APC will win 2019 election in Oyo State
Hon. Olaoya has expressed confidence in the ability of APC in Oyo state to retain power in 2019 as a result of the applausive achievements of the state governor, Senator AbiolaAjimobi. The APC chieftain rated governor Ajimobi as the best governor Oyo state has ever produced owing to his numerous achievements for the past seven years which the state has never experienced since the return of democratic rule in the state.
The former house of assembly member said, the criticisms of politicians against the present administration in Oyo state translate to only noise making because the people have seen the difference between light and darkness. Hon Olaoya was quick to remind the people of the state that before governor Ajimobi was elected as governor of Oyo state, the state was under the siege of terror as bloodbath and gruesome killings of innocent people were rampant across the state. He went further to say that the arrival of governor Ajimobi brought succor to the people of the state by curtailing the high spate of insecurity thus ensuring peace in the state.
Hon. Olaoya concluded by calling on Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari and to continue to support him. He described President Muhammadu Buhari as a man of integrity, trustworthy and a builder who is poised to return the lost glory of this nation which the previous administrations have destroyed. The APC chieftain reminded the people that, change requires gradual process as Rome was never built in a day.
