NIGERIA (Lagos)- Patients and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island, were thrown into panic yesterday when a fire broke out in the hospital.
The inferno which broke out yesterday morning was quenched by the timely intervention of the fire fighters and residents of the Mission Street.
Speaking about the incident, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, said an emergency call about 6pm alerted them of the fire outbreak.
“Immediately, we mobilised our water trucks from Onikan and Sari Iganmu stations to the place and by 7:15, our men had put off the fire,” he said.
According to Fadipe, the inferno attributed to electrical fault affected only the ninth floor occupied by a law firm and no death was recorded.
