Governor Rauf Aregbesola and Senator Iyiola Omisore
NIGERIA (Osun)-Religion proved to be the real tool of overcoming differences, including that which was created by politics, when the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in the 2014 Osun State election, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and the Executive Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, put aside their political differences and worshipped together at the annual Oke-Maria Catholic Pilgrimage, held during the weekend at Otan-Ayegbaju, Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State.
The event which was presided over by the Catholic Arcbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese and Apostolic Administrator of Osogbo Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Gabriel ‘Leke Abegunrin, witnessed large turnout of Catholic Faithful across the length and breadth of the Country.
Arcbishop Abegunrin, in his sermon during the pilgrimage, urged devotees at the Oke-Maria Shrine to shelve their political differences and embrace peace.
