The Senator representing Kaduna North at the Senate, Sen. Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi said democracy was violated in the state during the All Progressives Congress on Saturday, noting that the exercise was “not transparent enough.”
However, the Chairman of the Ward/Local Government Congresses Committee, Adamu Modibbo, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the exercise in the 255 wards of the state.
Modibbo said this in Limanci Kuna Ward in Zaria Local Government Area while speaking with journalists after monitoring the congress in some wards across the three senatorial districts of the state.
He also said that the exercise was “conducted peacefully in well-organized manner without any untoward incident in all the wards” he visited; adding that the reports he got from the teams that went to other zones were also positive.
He noted that he was particularly impressed with the large turnout of party members for the congress and the orderliness they displayed in the conduct of the congress.
He commended the party leaderships at state, local government and ward levels for their “sense of organization, peacefulness and commitment to the party.”
