UMAR MANKO ORDERS THE ARREST OF POLICEMEN, CONNECTED TO THE KILLING OF TWO SCHOOL BOYS

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Umar Manko, has ordered the arrest of policemen and hoodlums identified in the killing of two boys in Badagry.

The policemen in accomplice with hoodlums were alleged to have beaten to death, an undergraduate of the Delta State named Ifechukwude Nwaikpor, and his friend, Kazeem in Ajara area of Badagry on July 21, 2013.

CEOAFRICA news correspondence gathered that investigations are on going on the matter as the Umar Manko has promised to see to proper investigation into the matter.

However, having ordered the immediate arrest of the policemen identified in the video clip which testified how the boys were killed by members of a vigilance group; Umar Manko blamed the Badagry Divisional Police Officer, Mohammed Dankoli, for tagging the late schoolboys as armed robbers as he did not present the incident the way it happened.

Manko stating that he was not satisfied with the way the case is being handled, said to have transferred the matter to his office at GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, adding that he had mandated a senior police officer in charge Maroko Police Station, CPS Johnson Adenola, who he described as “an upright man” to superintend the trial of all civilians and policemen connected with the killing.

The commissioner of police moreover, has promised a proper supervision of the matter together with others to ensure that people stop the act of taking laws into their hands, insisting that no man has right to take the life of another and that he would not tolerate impunity by anyone.
