Seven police officers were on Tuesday shot dead by unknown gunmen along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Road, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to Punch, the officers were on patrol when they were attacked by the gunmen who drove off after the shooting.

Commissioner of Police Sadiq Bello who confirmed the report, said he has been briefed and the command will issue a statement soon.
