The first female pharmacist VC in Nigeria and the current vice chancellor of Chrisland university Abeokuta, Prof (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace Babalola in her speech during the valedictory service of Bishop Akinyele Grammar School (BAGS) Ibadan admonished the students especially the valedictorians to wear the image of excellence.

She cited examples of people who have done exceedingly well academically, the likes of a nineteen-year-old miss Flourish Salami who graduated last Friday with a cumulative grade point average of 4.99 in the department of industrial chemistry, Covenant university Ota. Also students from Chrisland University Abeokuta, Mr. Hamza Atiloba and Miss Precious Haruna who were singled out for their outstanding contributions to the 8th international symposium of drug policies in Africa. With these stories she emphasized the need for one to excel and she made it clear that age, status and course cannot hinder anyone to succeed.

According to her, success belongs to everyone no matter the class whether low, mighty, poor or rich like the case of Professor (Mrs.) Chinonye Moses of covenant university born from a poor background, she struggled to not just being a graduate but a professor in entrepreneurship and of course she is the first professor of entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

Prof. counselled the students to be godly and diligent because God is a rewarder of hard work and diligence and learn from the life of Daniel in the bible.

Prof. (Mrs.) Chinedum also advised the valedictorians to represent the school and count themselves privileged to have been part of Bishop Akinyele Grammar School.

She says BAGS is known for character, good conduct and good moral standards and the valedictorians should be ambassadors of the school for they have received one of the best licenses to excel in life.

The valedictory service had other programs that added spice to the event. The school drama group presentation was awesome, the energy from the dancers struck me and I found myself dancing Ada Ada with the drama group because success should be celebrated.
