As operatives of the Department of Security Service (DSS) finally lifts its day-long siege on the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye (PDP, Kogi) has said the drama that played out today was an indication that Nigeria is practising "greedocracy," not democracy.

Dino, who explained "greedocracy" as a government of the greedy, by the greedy and for the greedy, also expressed gratitude to Nigerians and the media for what he termed the "triumph of light over darkness."

The lawmaker said the invasion of the National Assembly was a coup and an attempt to perpetuate illegality, which cannot stand.

"The media is our partner in the protection of democracy. What happened today is a coup. What Nigeria is practising is "Greedocracy". But the forces of light must always overcome the forces of darkness," he said.

He, however described the sacked Director of DSS, Lawal Daura, as a "fall guy," adding that more people must go down to pay for the illegality.
