A man arrested while sleeping during an armed robbery and attempted kidnapping operation a week ago has died.
The middle aged man whose identity is yet to be known died in police custody on Monday.
The Ondo state police command spokesman, Femi Joseph told newsmen on Tuesday at the command headquarters in Akure, the Ondo state capital that the suspect never woke up from sleep.
The suspect who had gone in company of other members of his gang to carry out an operation in a pharmacy in Owo town was said to have fallen asleep at the scene due to the effect of tramadol he took.
During the parade of the suspect and other criminal suspects last week, the PPRO said the suspect and two others now at large had entered a pharmacy shop to carry out an operation when he was arrested.
Joseph further said that the owner of the pharmacy on sighting the gang with arms, escaped through the back exit door.
