Newly installed PDP Youth Leader in Oyo state, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye has affirmed that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has the best chance of emerging victorious in the forth coming Oyo state governorship race.

He made the assertion in an exclusive interview with CEOAfrica on Thursday. According to him, the political permutations in the state suggests that the PDP will have a good outing come 2019 elections.

Adeoye said, “PDP have a good chance come 2019 election because majority of us coming back to the PDP, thousands of youths are ready to work for the success of the PDP in Oyo state. Majority of the members of APC have already left the party to join PDP, thousands of ADC have also joined the PDP. About six aspirants under the ADC have also joined PDP that is the reason why Chf. Kola Balogun emerged as the Senatorial candidate of the PDP for Oyo south, the party is also in talks with Engr. Remi Olaniyan as well.

“Majority of like-minded people as well, the elite have come to realize that the only alternative in Oyo state right now is PDP and don’t forget in Nigeria today the Atiku tsunami will work in favour of PDP.”

On the reason why some governorship aspirants under the ADC defected to the PDP, Adeoye had this to say: “After seeing that there is nothing on ground in the ADC and because they hold the future of Oyo state dear to their hearts, their only option was to join the winning team and they see that in the PDP.

That is the reason why the leadership of the PDP, the governorship candidate of the party, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the state executive of the party had an arrangement that after the negotiation we will give you Senate seat for Oyo South, we will give you the deputy governorship position and after brainstorming an agreement was reached.”
