President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Dr Sally Bolujoko, has urged political leaders and top civil servants to enroll their children and wards in public schools.
Dr Bolujoko made the pressing call in Abuja during the public presentation of a book titled, ‘Hello Phonics: A New Model in Reading’ authored by Taiwo Adekanye.
She said having their children in public schools would compel political leaders to increase education budget, track it and monitor development in the sector.
She said, “It is like government has abdicated responsibility of educating Nigerian children because schools are in deplorable condition.
“Let the government put more money in educating the children. Nobody will embezzle the money when they have their children there,” she said.
