With the promotion of indigenous African languages high on the agenda of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN), the Academy has scheduled a consultancy meeting with media and communication experts.
The 2-day meeting is expected to kick off on Thursday, December 27 in Kigali. The Academy will be looking to strengthen collaboration with the media in its bid to develop and promote indigenous African languages.
It is ACALAN’s objective to promote the use of African languages in all domains of life. ACALAN recognises how vital the role of the media in achieving this objective is and hence need for the meeting.
The Academy will among other things be seeking strategic partnership with the media in broadening the use of African languages especially within the media and incorporating the various languages in their daily reportage.
