The Lagos State residents particularly those dwelling very close to beach has been alerted by the State Government of the possible gush in Lekki beach and the dangers looming in other beaches and their immediate environment.

CEOAFRICA learnt this from the briefing given to the journalist yesterday by Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the  General Manager/CEO of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who also noted that accidents and emergencies that occur during periods as this, is always attributed to the nonchalant attitude and carelessness of the people during holiday celebration.

Dr. Osanyintolu however has warned Lagosians to be safety conscious and stay away from the affected areas especially, Lekki beach, Alpha beach and Elegushi Beach, particularly stating that fun seekers must not go anywhere near the beaches to avert disaster.

He revealed that the tidal waves began at 3am and lasted till 6am, and a repeat of the wave might cause damages in the beaches environment, as tidal waves are on the increase.
