Former Nigeria striker, Julius Aghahowa, has hailed the management of Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, for giving fans the opportunity to watch and enjoy the World Cup in Brazil at its newly-opened Ariya BBQ Terrace.

The viewing centre, which was opened on June 12, will be operative throughout the duration of the World Cup.

Aghahowa, who scored a goal at the 2002 World Cup, said, “It’s a great experience for me to mix up with football fans in Lagos again. I think people who have watched the World Cup inside the terrace right from the first match between Brazil and Croatia will agree with me that the hotel has made a wonderful provision for an exciting viewing of the World Cup. I want to commend Intercontinental Hotel for putting this together.”

Public Relations Manager of the hotel, Ronke Bamisedun said, “In celebration of the tournament, we have created the ultimate viewing experience for guests featuring a special launch event, festive food and drinks and live play-by-play coverage of matches.

“Before the Eagles were eliminated, we brought notable ex-players as our special guests anytime the team played. Aghahowa was here, we plan to bring Mutiu Adepoju and others till the final day of the World Cup, when we’ll have Peter Rufai as our guest
