A former Governor of Oyo state, also the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala  on Thursday met behind closed doors with other opposition parties to birth a coalition against the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

CEOAfrica gathered that the meeting which started on Thursday at the Ondo Street, Bodija residence of Ladoja in Ibadan will be concluded on Friday 1st of March, 2019.

It could be perceived that the presidential victory of the ruling APC might be one of the reason for the coalition of parties as the main opposition PDP happened to claim Oyo state at the just concluded Presidential/National Assembly polls, hence need to claim the state from the APC came up.

Recalled that Oyo state APC during the primaries had more than 20 candidates that were vying for the governorship ticket and none of them agreed to step down for the others, rather some defected to other parties, and in turn wants the seat of power taken from the ruling party.

However, fingers are still crossed until after the meeting.

The political wigs in the meeting includes, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, one time governor of the state, also a the leader of Zenith Labour Party; Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC); Engr. Seyi Makinde, gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Others include the governorship candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Chief Sharafadeen Alli; his counterpart from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, among others.

However, the adopted party and candidate is expected to be made known at the end of the meeting, just as power sharing agreement may be signed by the stakeholders at the end of the meeting.
