THE opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) Wednesday raised an alarm that the presidency has perfected plans to ensure the impeachment of four of its governors before the 2015 poll.

The national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who addressed a world press conference in Abuja claimed that the recent impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State was in line with the objective.

The APC chief who disclosed that Nyako's impeachment would be challenged in the law court maintained that the development was in line with the desire by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming 2015 poll at all cost.

Flanked by chieftains of the party from across the country, Oyegun particularly alleged that each member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly was given $300,000 as part payment to impeach Gov. Nyako; adding that some N500 million has allegedly been moved to Nasarawa to induce the state's lawmakers to impeach Gov. Tanko Al-Makura

Noting that events in Nigeria in the past few weeks point to a return to the dark old days of state dictatorship, lawlessness, impunity and repression, he further claimed that in Edo State, each lawmaker has allegedly been offered N75 million to impeach Gov. Adams Oshiomhole.

In the address entitled "President Jonathan is destroying Nigeria in his obsessive bid for re-election" Oyegun also accused the Nigeria Army of over stepping its bounds by taking sides with the PDP to undermine the opposition parties in the polity.
