Olubadan commends Oyo CP Olukolu, pledges Royal support

Olubadan of Ibadanland His Imperial Majesty Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Oguguniso 1  at his popoyemoja, palace yesterday   commended the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Shina Olukola for his great work in policing Oyo State most especially during  and after the just concluded general election. “You have made us proud as great law enforcement officer. The palace will continue to support you in keeping Oyo State safe for all.

The crime fighter Commissioner of Police, CP Olukola said he embarked on courtesy visit as part of his objective in making sure that community policing gets to the grassroots level

According to him, courtesy demands that any CP who finds himself in a new environment, should as a matter of fact identify himself with the traditional ruler of such community, thereby creating a synergy with the monarch and other stakeholders in the state to build a formidable force in fighting crimes.

He states: “It is not only traditional, but also a right for a commissioner who have been posted to community, there is need for me not only to meet with the Governor of the state but to meet with other very important personalities, stakeholders of the community, traditional leaders in other to synergy with them, engage them and be on the same page”.

“I have come to the palace of the Olubadan of IbadanLand  to seek His Royal blessings, to seek his assistance , support on how to help the police on the bases of Community policing .The Royal father , owns the people so we want him to talk to the people to support the police, to corporate with us, to give us very useful information to enable the police serve them well and for us to be on the same page”.

Recall that on Monday CEOAFRICA reported that Oyo CP Shina paraded 21 suspected criminal in his efforts to resolved and keep Oyo State safe. .

The CP thanked the Royal father for receiving him and his officer in his palace, Royal father’s commendation and assured him of the commands resolved to keep Oyo state safe. 

Oba Adetunji in his response said “My palace has been a home for your predecessors and yours will be no different. You will be welcome any day, anytime to my palace. Feel free to stop by at will”
