In a press released signed by Most Reverend Emmanuel Ade Badejo , Catholic Bishop of Oyo Diocese and was made available to CEOAFRICA news desk states thus  “ I congratulate all our Religious leaders, Traditional leaders and Muslim faithful on the conclusion of the period of Ramadan, dedicated to prayer fasting and charity to the poor. We thank Almighty God for the relative peace among all religions and peoples in Yorubaland and pray for abiding peace and reconciliation in other parts of Nigeria. Many happy returns.

We pray for all our security agents and people who have died in the current crisis to rest in peace. May God help us to comfort the bereaved and provide for those who are deprived and are in need.

As elections occur around us I call on politicians and everyone to have the fear of God and let us work for fairness, justice and solidarity in Nigeria. Some people are working hard to make true religion a problem rather than a blessing by causing violence and bloodshed in Nigeria. We must prevent this happening. We must continue to be a good example for the entire world in peaceful co-existence and harmony.

Let us persevere in the work of mutual respect, honest dialogue and charity to one another irrespective of tribe and religion. Only this way can we overcome evil and engender development.

Happy Id el Fitri and many happy returns. Ramadan Kareem!
