The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) President , Francis Johnson, is dead.

The General Secretary of the organisation, Okugbawa Lumumba, revealed this to reporters on Friday.

He reportedly died in the wee hours of Friday after a brief illness.

Johnson became President of PENGASSAN in 2014, and was said to have gone in the ways of his fathers after an ailment.

Lumumba said members of the union were on their way to pay a condolence visit to the family, adding that a statement would be issued later.
